If you are moving to the US soon or have just moved there and want to know how domestic transfers work, here is everything you need to know. There are three ways to transfer money:

ACH

An ACH (automated clearing house) is an electronic payment method made between banks for payment purposes. It enables day-to-day transactions and usually takes 2-3 business days to process your money to the receiving bank. With ACH transfer, you incur zero fees, and it comes with an inward limit of $65000 monthly and an outer limit of $10000/monthly and daily.

ACH bank transfers are used for many purposes, such as direct deposits of paychecks, debts for regular payments, and money transfers. To do an ACH transfer, you will need to provide the account holder's name, the routing number, the ABA number, the account number, and the amount to be transferred.

How does Zolve fit in?

Since Zolve supports outgoing ACH transfers, all you need to do is:

  • Go to Bank - > My cards -> Select Credit card -> Pay Now
  • Click on Link New Account
  • Select Zolve Direct / Zolve Micro

For Zolve Micro:

  • Select the external bank
  • Enter the external bank account number and ACH routing number
  • Zolve would then make two micro deposits of less than $1 on the external account in 24-48 hours
  • The user has to verify the receipt of the micro-deposits on the Zolve app
  • Once it is confirmed, the account gets linked

P2P payments

P2P, or peer-to-peer transfer, is a process through which the user can instantly transfer funds from his bank account to another individual's account. In layman’s terms, P2P payments are used in apps where users can send and receive money from their mobile devices through a linked bank account or card.

For this kind of transfer, you don’t need to incur any extra cost, and the daily limit is set at $10,000/ day and $45/000 a month.

Wire transfers

Wire transfers usually help transfer large sums of money from one account to another. It usually takes 2-3 days, and you have to pay a charge of $15 - $25 as charges with the source bank. It has an inward limit of $65,000 monthly and daily.
